Raining Blood in Guitar Hero III carcasses in the trees.
The St. Louis Zoo is home to a lot of interesting animals. This little guy included. I'm not sure why the decided to put a fake animal carcass in this tree. I suppose it lends to a more "authentic" jungle experience. I'm not offended I just find it a little creepy. Oh well, I guess kids have to learn about death somehow.

Trashy at Best
My car is by no means pristine. It frequently smells like the inner thigh of a hooker(rugby union) because of my extracurricular activities. But this guy needs to take an hour out of his (obviously) busy schedule to make rubbish of all of these cigarette cartons and quick trip 32oz cups.

Chess at work
I find myself with a few minutes of downtime interspersed throughout the day at work. So instead of surfing endless KiloBytes of ad revenue hungry "copy"-blogs I decided to purchase a $0.50 chess board at Big Lots. The apparatus is quite simple. I start a game and flip the paper next to the board to "your turn" if "you" walk by you're then allowed to make a move. When finished "you" flip over the paper to the side that says "My Turn". It's way more fun that a lot of ways that I've found for killing down time. As an added bonus I rarely end up lost forever (xkcd), neglecting work.
It has been met with much amusement by most of my co-workers. While some of them just smile and shake their head others stop by at fairly regular intervals to see how the game is going. It is not really a quality game of chess that ends up being played. However, I feel that it has many intangible team building and sanity keeping benefits.
What do you do to shake out the cobwebs/kill time at work?
